  5. America, you have a problem.

  6. If I could do anything about it I would leave more behind for these children than a narcissistic president and a religion engaged in the buying and selling of Jesus. My heart bleeds for these children knowing what parents are doing and leaving behind for them to grow up in.

  7. Non-whites find Rule of Law traumatising.

  8. This is a topic of science not just an opinion.

  15. Sandy Hook proved we are cool with dead children. Murica

  16. I agree. Our kids. Not migrant kids. How do you propose to help those who you're not helping now after you stress the system even further with millions of violent migrants?

  17. Nadine Burke Harris is a real godsent. She is an advocate of the Adverse Childhood Experience studies, which absolutely prove the link between toxic stress and severe health impacts. So few people know about it but it is so vital. It should be as widely known as how to drive a car or how to make contracts.

  18. Our kids deserve better

  19. Sad, I experience the abused adults everyday. The Aftermath. Schools need to teach American values in school beginning at 2 years old to reverse or stop childhood trauma.

  26. Ever since the British left india both high and lower caste Hindus began to do genocides of muslims systemically time to time what you see still continued, doing more and the situation now have become more grave because of doing more frequently and fanatically; Majority of Hindus in india have same facisist ,Sanghi mentalities; and do have immense hatred in their's hearts like zoinist towards muslims,They all support these RSS,Congress & now BJP terrorists network spread all across India whether they are high caste or low or lower castes Dalits not a single day passes you don't find these reports go unnoticed, they are killing Muslims brutally anywhere and everyday with all supports and terror finances provided by Modi government to its pocket terrorist network working very hard in every nooks and corners of cities and villages.

  27. Political correctness has gotten way out of hand!
Criminals have got the upperhand to be evil and break the law.
Everybody needs to repent and turn to Jesus. This is exactly what He warned us about and people ignored it and now look.
If there's a school shooting and children are traumatized because of it, and rightfully so, the next day they're required to go back to school even if it's just to get help from the counselors, or else get attendance occurrences that count against them on the record. But some of them are too scared to even go and that is understandable.
This new discovery of "toxic stress", is just going to be another way for the pharmaceutical industry to make money off of people that are suffering. Watch.
Yes, we need to help people, but only getting them help if they could afford it, is not the answer.
    What the heck?!?!

  28. America has no morals, proof, just look at our ENTIRE History up to the present. The majority of people in US are good, but, this nation has Always been run by the hatefilled minority.

  29. And yet sweet f.a. is done to prevent the various forms of bullying & social exclusion in schools…

Think perhaps there might be a link between toxic environments and violent outbursts when particularly vulnerable victims of bullying have no means of escape from it and no access to help?

  30. Child trauma is problem that we will all have to pay in the future

  31. Dr. Burke Harris thank God for you! I’ve followed you for years and I am so thankful for you .

  32. Struggled with this for as long as i can remember.
Conclusion = The damage done in childhood cannot be reversed.
Painful struggle to get through a day, especially when having to interact with others, attempting to do basic everyday tasks, which non-mentally damaged people do not overthink.

  33. You can not replace a broken childhood.

  34. Adverse childhood experiences result in more health issues when those children become adults. That's not opinion, that's fact. This is a good video explaining why children in detention at the border should not be separated from their parents and held in cages without access to showers and hot food (which should be common sense, but apparently with Trump's administration is not.)

  35. As a rule, people place themselves and their own well being higher on their list of priorities than the needs and well being of others. The more one struggles, the less time and energy one has to devote to being concerned about others. When you see a video like this, it will almost inevitably have been made by someone who lives a relatively comfortable life.

  36. Toxic stress not only affects physical health, but emotional health, not allowing individuals to have confidence in meeting their basic human needs, trusting the world at large, as well as affecting their ability to thrive and fulfill their own full potential. Unresolved issues tend to be passed down unconsciously into successive generations. And the more severe the abuse and trauma (ie., daily or random and the younger the child) there is a risk of a child internalizing the abuse and identifying with the abuser/perpetrator … could those who who have been bullied daily as children turn out to be bullies as adults and unsympathetic to those more vulnerable? Or sociopathic or psychopathic? The Boston Strangler and his siblings were lined up and beaten daily by their father, a former felon, for any misdeeds or even thoughts of misdeeds that had or hadn't yet occurred. So, are the government's policies separating children from their parents, reflective of a cycle of psychopathology –inflicting child abuse and neglect – that's been unhealed from generation to generation? For centuries, our collective human existence has been rife with military conflicts, slavery/child sex abuse and endless wars creating trauma and toxic stress. In the 21st century, it's time for global healing.
