Is a Plant-Based Diet Really Better for the Environment and Your Health?

This is Carl. And this is Joe. Carl and Joe both live in the same city, in the same kind of house, and drive the same car. Carl is an omnivore and Joe eats a plant-based diet. They eat about the same amount of food everyday. But because of his diet, Joe uses 300 gallons of water per day, while Carl uses four thousand. Also because of his diet, Carl uses eight times more fossil fuels than Joe. And Joe’s annual carbon footprint is 1.5 tons while Carl’s is 2.5 tons. Carl’s diet means he uses five times more land than Joe and meaty diets like his cause 70 percent of rainforest destruction. Carl weighs about 30 pounds more than Joe. And Joe’s risk for heart disease, diabetes, stroke, and cancer are all significantly lower than Carl’s. This means that Carl will die an average of nine and a half years sooner than Joe, while Joe will have spared tens of thousands of animals in his lifetime. Because of his diet, Joe is healthier, kinder to animals and the environment. Be like Joe. Eat a plant-based diet.

  12. Good on ya Joe. Most humans don't understand logic

  13. Let's see, more than half of the world's contamination is the fault of the animals, for example, the methane from the cows so famous and almost meme. It is true that only that methane pollutes more than all the means of transport together.

Also several people saying things like environmental activists that use plastic and say to take care of the environment by being vegan. Or that they wear leather and they are vegan. And okay, all right, you're right. But one thing does not take away the other, I mean even if there are hypocritical people, that does not eliminate the fact that not consuming animal products is a very effective way of avoiding (reducing the impact, rather) climate change.

I could continue talking, but since my channel is about that (in some part) I leave this here – You have to remove the spaces: https://you tu.be/mSv CcVoyfbE it's a video about veganism where I give several reasons to become one, one of them is the environment, of course. I hope it serves you. Thanks for reading 😀

  14. This is SO helpfull! I'll just show people this video when they ask me "why are you vegan?" 🙌🏻

  15. Great animation! We're considering moving our family towards a vegan diet. I like that this video very quickly and easily provides stats and information about the health and environmental benefits of plant-based diets, but keeps it lighthearted and easy to watch. @mediaartssbcc

  16. Carl avocado had to travel huge distance to get to him ,in order for Carl to be eco friendly he will need to eat only whats produced locally ,that's hard in a city and its hard to have balanced diet that way

  17. these stats are all completely wrong first of the water consummation one???? it takes 8 litres of water to produce one litre of cows milk and it takes one hundred and seven to produce a litre of almond milk
