Comeback Yoga. Transforming the Lives of Veterans.

I am sick of not engaging with my family, my friends, and my community. I am sick of hating myself. I am sick of being in
physical and mental pain. I’ll try anything. You say yoga works, and this is like veteran only yoga? Cool. Let’s try it. After what its done for me, I want to keep bringing
more yoga to more veterans. We are a Denver based non-profit, providing free trauma informed yoga to veterans, active duty, and their friends and family. Our yoga is specifically tailored to the military demographic. Talk about having military
cultural competence means to be aware of
trauma that your students may or may not have suffered. Military service can take a toll, but when you hear that someone is being a better father because
they are going to yoga, we just always feel extremely honored and privileged to even be
helping and being of service. I think the most important thing for people to know
about Colorado Gives Day is that it is just your little window into being a bigger
part of your community. Colorado Gives Day is getting our name out there to other people. Yes, they may donate, that’s great. But, they may have a veteran. Their dad, their brother,
their sister, their mother may want our services. That’s better than the money. It’s Colorado Gives Day,
everything stays here. You’re helping people who
are in your community, in your state, and you’re
learning about services that you can take advantage
of if you need them. It’s so easy, it’s so fast, there is no reason not to do it. I am just grateful. Grateful for what yoga did for me. There is something in that
sinking breath to movement, having all of your attention brought to that one place. Forget about everybody else that’s in the room right now. Forget about everything else that might be going on in your life. The regrets, all of that. There is magic there.
