5 Healthy Morning Habits That Will Change Your Life ✨ Self Care Summer

hi guys welcome back to my channel ankles you're all doing well welcome back to an all-new self-care at summer video or if you are new here hi I'm Kerry rad nice to meet you I am currently doing a series called self-care summer where I post videos every other day when bobbing around into self-care so there are plenty of videos for you to binge watch if you are new here today's video is going to be 5 morning habits to help improve your life and I'm really excited about this video i just recently posted five simple and healthy habits to change your life and you guys really loved that video so this video is in the same realm but it's going to focus primarily on things to do in the morning to help improve your everyday life if you are enjoying self-care summer so far please make sure to give I'm going to start off with my lemon water habit because it's the first thing that I do in the morning you can do cold water or warm water I tend to like the warm water option a little bit more because the warm water helps me feel like I'm cleansing my body even more citrus is great for digestion so squeezing some lemon in to your water is gonna make you feel invigorated it's going to help speed up your metabolism or just help with your metabolism in general I love lemon lemon is something that I put on almost everything that I eat I probably put too much lemon on things sometimes but I just think that it is such a great way to help cleanse and to help with digestion and the smell of citrus can really help reduce stress I love citrus in an essential oil so just having a citrus first thing in the morning when I wake up just helps me wake up and makes me feel like I am doing a deep cleanse with my body before I start putting everything else in there after you've had your fuel for the morning so you've had your smoothie and your coffee and you've had your breakfast go outside as soon as possible because you are going to be most likely indoors for most of the unless you have a job where you're outside but for the most part we tend to spend most of our time in doors so going outside right away to just feel the fresh air on our skin to walk to work if we can or to walk to our workout if we can or even just taking the long route to our car to go to our workout whatever it might be just try to spend some time outside even better if you go run outside take a lap around the neighborhood to just get your heart going to get your mind moving and grooving for the day and to just be outside and feel the sunshine in the morning it is such a great way to start off the day helps clear your mind it makes you feel energized before you take on all of this computer work or homework or whatever you need to do my third habit is no technology for the first hour of your day it is so easy for us to roll over in bed grab our phones and you start scrolling through Instagram I totally get it I'm guilty of it but a practice I have been doing recently is keeping my phone across the room so that I know that I need to get up make my bed which is like a side note that will be six tip but we will put that in this video but make your bed in the morning besides that I get up make my bed and I know I have to go all the way across the room to grab my phone if I want to I know that instead no I make a mental note and say okay I'm gonna go into the kitchen to make coffee because what's better a cup of coffee or scrolling through Instagram a cup of coffee obviously so I go into the kitchen make my cup of coffee say hello to Alex if I'm at his house or if he's at mine and just enjoy the morning because I am waking up at like 6:30 or 7:00 a.m. most of the time so I have more than enough time to be disconnected from the world and to have me time in the morning before I jump in to this entire world of responding to people looking through emails going on Instagram because most of the time our world is in our cell phones we are always reminded of that might potentially stress us out when we look at our phones because all of our phones are connected to work somehow via email or Facebook you're looking at family stuff or friends doing this or that or whatever it might be so if we just have a moment of clarity at the beginning of the day where we don't have to think about anything or be reminded by anything through social media it's a very ideal to wake up and have a very clear mind in the morning and being disconnected from social media is the very best way you can do that meditation yes I'm talking about meditation again very briefly I just want to recommend it in the morning especially outside maybe after you have that walk or that run in the morning you could just sit down in the grass have a moment of a 10-minute meditation if you want to know more about meditation and feel inspired to meditate I will link a video here for you guys to check out I posted a video about how I meditate and how I get into the zone for meditation and I think it is such a crucial and wonderful habit to pick up in the morning because it is another thing that helps clear your mind in the morning and that is the theme of this video is just things that help you start off the day on the right foot and on the right track and with a mind that is open for new experiences and it is stress free as much as it can be that is what I try to do as much as I can in the morning because that's what helps improve my day the reason I am bringing up meditation again is because it has such amazing benefits on our health some of the benefits include makes you happier helps you concentrate throughout the day helps your immune system makes it so you can slow down aging a bit especially for your mind all of these benefits are so incredible and it's completely free to just sit down and meditate tip number five is to limit my choices and this is something that I am currently in the process of working on I recently read a quote from Obama that just made me go oh my gosh this is so true and I'm going to quote it right now but it might not be precise but he said something along the lines of I only blue and gray suits because I'm trying to limit my choices because I have to make a lot of important decisions throughout the day and I don't want to think about what I'm wearing or necessarily what I'm eating so I thought that that was so remarkable because it's true when you wake up in the morning I don't want to have to think about all of these different things that I could wear all these different things that I can eat I like having a routine I like thinking about and knowing the things that I'm going to do in the morning so that I don't have to overanalyze any decision it's true we make so many decisions throughout the day I don't want to think about oh should I wear this or this or this or this and pick out ten different things I want to know I feel confident in this this is what I'm going to wear these days I'm looking at minimalism as something that I'd love to aspire to do I have a full closet of clothes and I want to narrow that down very very very much so so it's definitely really interesting to me and I just think that's that quote mind blown so let me know if any of you guys practice minimalism what you think about it and if it's something that you would ever like to try so that's your guys's homework for today talk about minimalism in the comments because it's something that over the next couple of months I might really dive into it just sounds like something that would just help completely clear my mind so thank you guys so   4. Minimalism… I m so inspired by it. Ever since I came across this idea I have been trying to implement it as much as possible. It is so powerful n effective. Make life richer n more meaningful.   6. I struggle with anxiety, and I discovered minimalism about three years ago. It has helped me so so much. Decluterring calms me down, and opens up more space for me to “breathe”. I’ve also saved quite a bit of money now that I’m learning to only buy things I absolutely love or need rather than shopping impulsively. It’s definitely a journey, but it’s worth it in so many ways. 🙂

  14. The phone thing is pretty easy, i wake up at 5:30, stay in zombie mode for 15 mins and kinda change my clothes and go to the bathroom. Then I eat, and then I leave for work at 6:20. So I can't use my phone before 6:45, and it's for 15 mins because work starts at 7😂

  21. One day I just decided to take almost half of my stuff, put it in a pile on my bedroom floor, and then put everything in trash bags and took it to goodwill. I haven’t missed anything I’ve ever gotten rid of. It truly is freeing to have less things and focus on life.

  25. Not to be a downer but getting outside when it's -15°C and still dark isn't exactly relaxing and refreshing. It's more like stepping into a pitch black freezer where it's somehow really windy

  27. I haven’t seen any of your other videos but just so you know bullet journaling really helps with minimalism. I’ve been bullet journaling since 2016 and it’s amazing how much my life has improved and just how much more real I am with myself about decisions.💕
